Lora is originally from Los Angeles, CA but has been living in Texas for over 4 years. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, watching funny cat videos, traveling, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
Lora was drawn to this field because she has witnessed how the journey toward healing can inspire meaningful and lasting transformation in people’s lives. She understands that each person’s life is shaped by many identities people have such as race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, and socioeconomic status. As a multiracial woman, Lora has personal experience with unique challenges related to both her gender and ethnic identities. Growing up, her diverse background shaped her perspective and deepened her empathy for others facing discrimination or cultural misunderstandings. Her experiences have taught her resilience, adaptability, and the importance of embracing one’s authentic self. These experiences have not only influenced her personal life but also enrich her professional approach, allowing her to connect with individuals from all walks of life with genuine understanding and sensitivity. Lora’s lived experiences have inspired her lifelong commitment to advocating for inclusivity and fostering environments where all individuals feel valued and heard. Lora is passionate about working with people from all backgrounds, especially people from Black and Indigenous communities such as her own.
My journey in this field began as a case manager, where I worked with adults who were diagnosed with serious mental illness. Those early experiences motivated me to pursue my Master of Science in Social Work degree at The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout my internships, I was honored to connect with clients on a deeper level to help them navigate challenges such as grief and loss, life transitions, poverty, social isolation, and trauma. Being present with people during such vulnerable times has influenced my approach and deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care.
Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and I want you to know that you don’t have to go through this alone. I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where you truly feel seen, heard, and comfortable exploring your experiences. My approach is holistic, culturally sensitive, and person-centered—recognizing that our mental, physical, spiritual, and social well-being are all interconnected. I believe healing is about nurturing every aspect of who we are. Together, we will collaborate to address the full spectrum of your well-being. I will always respect your unique experiences and honor that you are the true expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate your path, process your emotions, and build resilience so you can confidently face whatever challenges come your way.
I work with individuals aged 12 and up and also work with families and couples. I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I carefully tailor these interventions to meet each client’s unique needs by considering their individual backgrounds, experiences, and goals. Wherever you are on your journey, I warmly welcome you and am here to support you in creating a life that feels more meaningful and fulfilling. Let’s take that first step together.
All of our therapists are trained and equipped to help you through issues related to anxiety, depression, and stress using a variety of techniques and tools designed specifically for you.
This is a therapeutic technique that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences (trauma).
We are happy to offer testing and therapeutic services using a variety of holistic approaches. These approaches can be used as either supplemental services to traditional therapy or sometimes in place of them.
Both Play Therapy and Art Therapy can be used to help clients interpret, express, and resolve their emotions and thoughts. Although Play Therapy is often used for children, Art Therapy can be used with a wide age range.
We’d like to stay in touch through a simple newsletter.
