As a therapist, Krista’s utmost goal is to provide the type of care that ensures a safe and caring environment. It is her hope that through a strong therapeutic relationship, clients are able to process through the challenges, hardships or traumas they have experienced. It is her belief that seeking counseling is a courageous step towards growth and healing in the life of her clients. Krista takes great honor in stepping into and walking alongside her clients as they find the best ways to cope, manage and grow from these experiences. In her view of life, all things, no matter the circumstance, are redeemable and capable of hope.
She has experience working with adolescents, women and families dealing with a variety of challenges. Through this, she has gained skills in working with several modalities such as EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy, Art Therapy, CBT and SFT. It is a passion of Krista’s to work with and advocate for her clients through an individualized and holistic approach to therapy.
In her free time, Krista enjoys spending time with her husband, children and family. She also enjoys being outdoors, baking, gardening, and creating memories with those she loves. She and her family attend First Baptist Church, Decatur where they love being apart of a great community.
I have worked as a counselor since 2017. I received my full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2021 from the State of Texas. During my time as a Practicum counselor at DBU, I had the opportunity to learn from a variety of talented therapists that have influenced a wide range of knowledge from different perspectives. I am a trained EMDR therapist and have seen great success in using this modality, especially in my work with children and adolescents.
All of our therapists are trained and equipped to help you through issues related to anxiety, depression, and stress using a variety of techniques and tools designed specifically for you.
This is a therapeutic technique that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences (trauma).
We are happy to offer testing and therapeutic services using a variety of holistic approaches. These approaches can be used as either supplemental services to traditional therapy or sometimes in place of them.
Both Play Therapy and Art Therapy can be used to help clients interpret, express, and resolve their emotions and thoughts. Although Play Therapy is often used for children, Art Therapy can be used with a wide age range.
We’d like to stay in touch through a simple newsletter.
