Professional Disclosure Statement

I believe the therapeutic process should remain collaborative, the client being the expert on their life and the therapist being the expert on the method and mode of change. This relationship is essential to the effectiveness of therapy and I believe a warm and safe space is grounds for this sacred work to occur. For this work, I utilize different modalities. For children I utilize a Child-centered play therapy approach allowing play to be their language and toys to be their words. For teens and adults I most often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for a practical intervention to move towards a specific goal. I also have experience in Biblical Counseling techniques and am grateful to utilize that lens when a client invites me to do so. I do not believe therapy to be a life long commitment, but a targeted strike on desired change. I work with a wide population including, but not limited to, children (3 years old and up), adolescents, young adults, family, and individuals.
