Personal

My adult journey began when I joined the United States Air Force 6 days after High School Graduation. After four and a half years, a wealth of valuable experience and one Honorable Discharge later, I set out in civilian life to make my way in the world.

Over the course of my career, I’ve worked in advertising, technical documentation, marketing, and education. In looking back, my work has ALWAYS been focused on effective communication. I used to tell the kiddos I counseled and taught for 23 years that I’d learned more from them than they could ever know. Through the children and their families, I developed an ABUNDANCE of patience, honed the art of Effective Listening and came to really understand that building quality relationships was THE KEY ingredient. Everything else flows from there.

I’m a son, brother, friend, and husband and my spouse and I share our space with a sweet little doggie soul called Bella. I have a life-long curiosity about everything and everyone around me. I love to read, seek out new restaurants and take AirBnB vacations by a beautiful lake.

Professional Disclosure Statement

As a Therapist, I strive to help people see in themselves what I see in them. That they are important, that they are valued and that the world is a better place because they are in it.

My personal mantra is “Knowledge is Power” and I firmly believe that the more you understand yourself, the more personal power you have to change the beliefs and actions that are holding you back.

My therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on targeting and changing distorted beliefs and actions to improve an individual’s emotional regulation; helping them develop personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.

I’m open to a variety of clients of various ages from 8 years old and up presenting with a variety of issues.
