Personal

Kaneisha and her husband Damion have been married since 2006 and have two children together: one boy and one girl.  They moved here to Arlington, TX from Monroe, LA on the faith of a mustard seed that Texas would provide more opportunities for their family.  Kaneisha enjoys having down time to listen to Podcasts and Audiobooks as well as shopping as she is really into fashion.  Kaneisha and Damion both live busy work lives.  He is a Firefighter/EMT for the City of Frisco, but they love spending quality time and making memories with her family.

Professional Disclosure Statement

I am a graduate of Grand Canyon University with a Master’s in Professional Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Texas.  I have and do work with a wide range population. I am currently working with adolescents 12 and up, young adults, older adults, and parents.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2009, starting as a skills trainer for kids, adolescents, and adults. I have provided case management, supportive assistance, and feedback to children, adolescents, their families, and adults. My experience has ranged from schools, to in home services, to courtrooms and jails. I have the unique perspective of meeting and treating an individual where they are, no matter where they are physically, emotionally, and mentally in their lives.

I believe therapy is about building a good rapport and incorporating good customer service. I value growing with my clients and helping them to see and reach their full potential. I believe in motivating my clients to identify and be the best version of themselves that they want to be. I like to have my client’s guide their treatment, so they are fully vested in the outcomes they are striving for. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help client’s not only reach their goals but to change the way they think about goal setting. Through these models, clients begin to understand how the way they think affects how they feel and behave as well as how focusing on the problem doesn’t achieve goals but rather focusing on solutions will.
