Professional Disclosure Statement

Jennifer works with a wide population including, but not limited to, children (4 years old and up), adolescents, young adults, family, couples, and individuals.  She became licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Texas in March 2022.

“As a counselor, I want to step along side individuals, who are seeking support, and walk with them through their journey. My role is not to give advice or answers but to be an empathetic, objective listener and assist clients in achieving their goals. I want to promote a sense of safety, belonging, and connection within the therapeutic relationship and provide clients a safe space to share and process whatever is going on in their life. When working with children and parents, I believe having a secure attachment and trusting connection between a child and parent is fundamental for change and progress. While working with clients, especially children, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These approaches assist clients in exploring thoughts, behaviors, feelings and behaviors and show them how to reframe negative thoughts and change behaviors that cause problems in their daily lives. I also utilize Trust Based Relational Intervention, which is a parenting approach that focuses on caregivers having a secure attachment and trusting, connected relationship with their children to promote growth and change.”
