Personal

Gay and her husband, Jim, have been married over thirty-eight years and have three children and four grandchildren. They are actively involved  in their church.  Adoption has a special  place in Gay’s heart through past post-adoption work. Gay loves spending time with family and friends, and special community volunteering.

Professional Disclosure Statement

I believe the therapeutic process is about the trust and relationship between client and therapist. When there is a healthy and appropriate therapeutic relationship, then there is greater motivation for change. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) techniques are utilized in my practice. My goal is to meet the client’s needs.  I currently work with clients 18 years of age and older.  My specialties include helping clients with addictions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, men’s and women’s issues, parenting, retirement transitions, spiritual issues, trauma, and veteran issues,

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

This is a therapeutic technique that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences (trauma).

Neurofeedback, QEEG, & other Alternative Therapies

We are happy to offer testing and therapeutic services using a variety of holistic approaches. These approaches can be used as either supplemental services to traditional therapy or sometimes in place of them.

Play Therapy & Art Therapy

Both Play Therapy and Art Therapy can be used to help clients interpret, express, and resolve their emotions and thoughts. Although Play Therapy is often used for children, Art Therapy can be used with a wide age range.
