Ana is originally from the capital of Ecuador, in South America. She and her family moved to the Dallas Metroplex area in 1999. They feel this is home now. Ana greatly enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
In her free time, Ana loves teaching God’s Word and serving at her church. She also likes road trips, traveling and karaoke parties; as well as simple pleasures, such as: reading a book, going for a walk or watching a good comedy.
Ana has always been passionate about helping others, brain physiology, cultural diversity and human behavior. She started her career studying Psychology, back in her country; then decided to get her Masters Degree in Family’ Counseling, here in the USA. And eventually got licensed by the state of Texas.
Ana worked as a Case Manager for almost 9 years, helping victims of domestic abuse. She has been providing therapy for about 6 years to a variety of clients like immigrants, refugees, veterans and others.
Ana is fascinated by the potential our brains have for healing. She knows we had been wonderfully made, with the capacity to heal and grow stronger, even despite of adversity. Our internal strenghts can be used or developed, as we walk our healing pathway and grow on resiliency.
Some of Ana’s specialties are: trauma, abuse, grief and loss, stress, depression, mid life crisis, life transitions, and spiritual issues. Ana is fully trained in EMDR.
Ana learned, through difficult times in her life, that when we feel weak and at the end of our rope, God is strong (2 Cor. 12:9). He will never leave us, nor forsake us (Deut. 31:6), and “nothing is impossible with God” (Lk. 1:37). Ana strongly believes that only with God, there can be complete healing. Only He can heal the deepest wounds of our soul. “Only He can mend our souls and help us change our lives.” (Ana L. Nicolalde, 4/2013)
Ana would like the opportunity to walk along side you on this healing journey, so you can rediscover yourself and improve the quality of your life.
Ana’s Greatest Life Lesson: Ana believes that everything has a reason and a purpose in life. As physical pain indicates a wound that needs care and healing, emotional pain could be a catalyst not just for healing, but also for growth. We, therefore, should not be afraid to face pain, but to embrace the challenge; knowing that growth, beyond what we could even ask or imagine, is possible.
Ana is fluent in English and Spanish. She also learned some conversational Portuguese; but hasn’t been able to practice it.
