Personal

Originally from the Mountain West, Tanna has been married for many years and shares her home with two cats and a dog. When she is not meeting with clients, you can often find her in the garden, reading a good book, spending time outdoors, or relaxing at home with a record playing. She values family, music, movement, nature, and a slower pace of life.  These moments help keep her grounded and are part of what allows her to bring a calm, compassionate presence to the therapy room.

Professional Disclosure Statement

Tanna is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas. Tanna is a trauma-informed therapist who believes that every thought, emotion, and behavior makes sense in the context of a person’s unique life experiences. She strives to understand the whole person and creates a judgment-free space where clients can replace shame with curiosity, self-compassion, and healing.

Her approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps clients better understand and connect with the different parts of themselves. Through IFS, Tanna helps clients foster greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and healing from the effects of trauma, grief, and life’s challenges. Her goal is to help adults and adolescents build trust in themselves, strengthen their relationship with themselves, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges with greater resilience and self-understanding. Tanna has specialized training in trauma, shame, self-value, and grief. She is committed to lifelong learning through innovative trainings, including attendance at international conferences with the Trauma Research Foundation. She also holds an Advanced Certificate in Trauma-Informed Care from the Texas Veterans Commission.
