Personal

Ashley is a fully licensed mental health professional with almost over 8 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in various settings. She’s well versed in several counseling techniques primarily working from a solution focused lens and has a compassionate, approachable demeanor. She often takes into consideration all aspects of a persons background, especially religion, as this tends to have a particularly powerful impact on an individuals’ frame of reference along with their goals for therapy. People warm up to her quickly as she enjoys encouraging them to realize their goals in new and creative ways. Ashley strives to involve the family as well as other support systems in the therapeutic process.

Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, family, church small group, garden and two amazing dogs. One of which she hopes to soon start training as a therapy dog. She’s currently highly involved in a community garden in Coppell, Texas which donates 80% of the proceeds to Metrocrest Services. In addition, Ashley will be working with a local school in Coppell as a resource for questions and activities around their garden. At the end of this year she will apply to start a master gardeners certification course beginning next year. Her end goal is to be certified as a horticulture therapist by 2021 so she can combine her hobby with her love of helping people.

Professional Disclosure Statement

I am currently a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in the state of Texas.  I work with a wide population including, but not limited to, children (10 years old and up), adolescents, young adults, family, couples, premarital, parents, and individuals. In fact, I would encourage significant involvement from family members in the therapeutic process.  I joined the team at Logos Counseling so that I could reengage with the community at a lower level of care and create a stronger network to better serve my clients.

I feel counseling is a collaborative effort between the counselor and the client to identify realistic goals and examine potential solutions to life challenges which can cause undo emotional turmoil. I generally work from a therapeutic approach called Solution Focused Brief Therapy or SFBT where the client and I will be able to explore positive experiences in their life as a means to discover hope and form positive future experiences. While I believe therapy can be challenging at times, my goal is to help clients find the strength within themselves to create their own solutions on a day to day basis.
